Fernando Verdasco, US Open 2012

Welcome to my world, one in which tennis is celebrated with words and pictures, with knowledge and experience, and always with passion.

Instead of formulaic match reports, orders of play or gossip, you will find first-hand experiences, opinion, and a love for the drama and beauty of this sport.

My first tennis memories are in black and white: Wimbledon as broadcast by the BBC.

My first memories of playing were on local grass courts—my favourite kind of tennis ever since.

After a long writing career in an altogether different world, things took a sudden and welcome change of direction back to tennis—and I fell in love with it all over again.

Now I write about tennis for numerous sports websites, and occasionally even venture into other sports too. If I can write for you—and I can provide the images to match, too—do drop me a line.
